There is some ‘hidden’ history by Gruut. Gruuten were used as paying unit at the time of Emperor Charles. They were used to pay taxes on the Gruut-herbs. There were single and double coins. After the disappearance of those herbs, people still uses those coins. Now, we use the Gruut-currency in the logo of our brewery
